In the framework of the seminar series entitled "European Parliament elections 2014 and a new agenda for health" organised by the Department of International Health the second seminar on “Social Europe – Solidarity in health” is taking place on 22 January 2013 from 12:30 to 15hrs in the European Parliament, Brussels. The seminar focusses on various issues around solidarity in health in Europe, e.g. financial crisis, intergenerational solidarity, health inequalities, etc. (see programme underneath). The topics will be discussed between different Members of the EP. Karin Kadenbach, MEP(S&D) is hosting the series and she will be among the panellists, too. Helmut Brand, Jean Monnet Chair of European Public Health, will moderate the discussion. There will be a possibility for questions and answers and the debate will be supported by a pitch of Maastricht University students.
Travel by bus from Maastricht to Brussels and back to Maastricht, Randwijk Campus will be arranged. Departure around 9 a.m. in the morning and arrival back in Maastricht around 6 p.m.. Attendance and bus travel is free of charge. However, in case of no-show without giving notice, we will charge you the actual costs (€35).
